I know that I’ve
selected a Mulberry bag for my Wednesday Wish before. Well, ok then, I may have picked one more
than once. It’s no secret that I love pretty
much all of their bags, clutches and wallets.
For other people it’s the Chanel 2.55 or perhaps a Louis Vuitton. For me
it is always Mulberry.
I spotted this
bag in a department store window, amidst a glittering display of
accessories. I stood for a moment
admiring the Prada bags and the Stella McCartney bags, but predictably as ever,
it was this little Mulberry beauty that caused me to catch my breath.
I realise that I’m
a bit late to the party on this one, but I’ve recently gained a whole new
appreciation of cross body bags. (Now
that The Child is twelve, I suddenly feel the need for a hands free
existence? What was I thinking back in
the day when I was struggling with handbags, nappy bags and buggy? Duh!) I also am not immune to the vintage appeal of
a satchel inspired bag and this Trout Bag from Mulberry ticks all the
boxes. It’s white, which probably isn’t the
most practical for those of you still in the throes of Toddler Terrors, but it
is the perfect colour for summer. I love
it.
I love it too though I don't like the fact that it's called the Trout bag which I assume is linked to it looking a little like the bags like men like to take fishing? I would be worried incase anyone said something like "oh a trout bag for an old trout". But that's just me. And I wasn't referring to you - just me!
ReplyDeleteThat same thought did occur to me, I must admit. But then I banished it instantly, because the bag is so gorgeous and I love it!!! Plus I'd probably keep hush about the name ... should I ever own it, I mean. Like that's going to happen anytime soon!!
ReplyDeleteI love it, and it is the perfect colour for summer... however ! once owned a lovely white Miu Miu bag, which unfortunately got stolen. i've never got over it & ever since i've been suspicious of white bags. I think they draw the unwanted attentions of handbag thieves! I am aware that this may just be a me thing!! x

DeleteLove it! Mulberry always looks so quietly regal and timeless but hip as well. It doesn't have all the gold buckles and tassles that I think would make you tire of a bag. I once got a slight copy of that McCartney white bag with a huge gold lock and buckles and by the next season it looked dreadful.
ReplyDeleteI think that's why I love Mulberry so much. Their bags are always classics and will look good each season. I remember the bags with the huge padlocks and buckles .. really out of vogue now! I'm sure you're glad that you only got a copy and not the real thing!
