Lunch in London

After a wonderful weekend in London, it’s back to Earth with a bang. Firstly, some pictures of what I finally wore to the bloggers lunch (err, that turned out to include the entire afternoon and evening!) on Saturday.  Being a contrary and fickle creature, I eschewed my original choices and decided on a monochrome black and white look.  My photographer is a pal with an artistic bent, hence the rather interesting angles!  Firstly, the Zara blouse that I bought last week

Covered up with a Zara jacket that I purchased in the sales last summer, and was first featured on my very first post last July.  (Totally convinced that my hair looks grey in these photos ... not entirely sure why?  God knows, I spent enough at the hairdressers last week to avoid such catastrophies!)

Meeting the fashion bloggers was a rather surreal experience.  Not unlike seeing the characters of one of your favourite books come to life.   Thankfully, I can honestly say that they were a fabulous bunch of ladies, and those who know me well, will know that gushing is not something I normally do.  Quick aside … I tried on Kat’s (does my bumlook 40 in this) coatigan … a garment that I drool over each time she shows it on her blog.  I’m not sure which fact excited me more … the fact that I was wearing a 3.1 Philip Lim coat or the fact that Kat’s coat fit me!!  It was a day filled with much chat and laughter.  Not much shopping done …. these ladies were such a laugh, that even the glittering stores of London failed to draw me away.

Normal service resumes again however, so I’ll be back on Wednesday with my usual weekly wish.  In the meantime, here are some photos of your favourite bloggers. (Apologies to Marlene (Chocolate, Cookies & Candies) and her fabulous hat; can’t believe I didn’t get a picture.  Also the lovely Sue at Susie So So, hates having her photo taken, so I'm bowing to her wishes and leaving her out.)

L to R:  Beth (Style Guile), Joanna (Poppy's Style),

Kat (does my bum look 40 in this), Fiona (Avenue 57)

Nathalie (Glamrosie), Avril (School Gate Style)

See you on Wednesday

  1. Helen, it was lovely to meet you and you have the most fantastic skin - thought you should know. Couldn't believe your age when you told me! We have to do this again some time - when it's warmer! And yeah - I'm rubbish in front of a camera aren't I?

    1. Thank you. Yes, we had a ball, which was graet as we'd never met each other before, so I think everyone was a little unsure of what to expect.

    1. Thanks a mil. Warning on the Zara blouse .. it's a bugger to iron and creases quite easily. Was also a bit disappointed at how the seams on the sleeve seemed to pucker. Not sure I'd recommend it, despite the fact that I love the shape. Helen

    1. Thanks Claire. Actually, the blouse is a bit of a disappointment as it creases very easily and the seams are very puckered. Love the style though, so will be keeping my eye out for something similar. I hope you're right about the hair .. in reality, it's fine. I just did a double take when I saw the pics!!

  8. Was absolutely fantastic to meet you - I thoroughly enjoyed drinking too much wine with you :-)

Still laughing at you stroking THE coat and then amazed that you fit it in (like you wouldn't????) - you're petite in all the right places.

Hopefully we can make it an annual meet?
